ABOUT THE ORGANIZER:
Vasa Drängar, a distinguished all men’s choir rooted in Swedish culture and music, is the driving force behind this extraordinary event. With a passion for preserving and sharing the rich musical heritage of Sweden, Vasa Drängar has garnered acclaim for their captivating performances that resonate with audiences worldwide. Their unwavering dedication to excellence ensures a memorable experience that celebrates the beauty and power of choral music. Join Vasa Drängar as they lead this enchanting celebration of Swedish culture and song, promising an unforgettable evening for all attendees.
AUSS stands for American Union of Swedish Singers, an organization that started at the end of the 19th century. Today it consists of members in about 16 Swedish choruses in the United States. They meet at a national convention every third year, and have a grand concert at the end of the convention. A couple of years ago Vasa Drängar was asked if we could plan and be hosts for the next convention, in Atlanta – and we said yes. It was supposed to happen in 2022, but because of the pandemic we got it postponed till 2023.
